Jürgen Hesselmann is new Head of Sales at WindNOW!
Jürgen Hesselmann is the “new guy” at WindNOW! – a sales manager with a personal connection to customers. The 58-year old state-certified electrical engineer and internationally experienced wind expert brings together technical expertise with the ability to work in a team and a strong conviction for renewables. We asked him some questions:
Jürgen, what do you find appealing about your new role at a young and independent service company?
After gaining experience in very large companies such as Bachmann Monitoring and Nordex, I very much appreciate the clear processes, the personal contact to customers and the direct form of contact among the team at WindNOW! Over the last years I’ve got to know all the wind turbines in the world – ranging from the trivial technology of old turbines right up to the new high-tech generation. I want to take an active and responsible role in shaping today’s substantial changes in the industry.
What aroused your interest in 2013 to advance from electrical engineer to “Certified Wind Energy Expert”?
To acquire a sound understanding of wind energy I made a conscious decision to study wind technology at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg, Germany. It wasn’t just a matter of technical interest, but also the conviction that I could actively contribute to shaping a sustainable future. The main task in my studies was to set up a wind park project in a team of eight, starting with site planning and finishing with the final sales brochure. The network I built up during that study time is still invaluable today.
What does your service expertise focus on?
Our team has many years of operational experience in wind power, especially with GE and Vestas turbines, and in future with Nordex systems as well. That’s an advantage for energy suppliers, operators and operating companies. I see the relationship to customers not just as a sales process but as part of a shared mission to achieve a sustainable and affordable energy supply.
WindNOW! will be showing at Husum Wind. Why should people visit your stand?
We like to convince our guests personally that we’re precisely the right experts for independent wind energy services, and we’re personally committed to making sure that our customers’ wind turbines perform in such a way that the asset is economically rewarding for the operator. We also keenly look forward to getting to know our future service partners directly.
